Two Of Our Own Honored As Top Doctors In The Suncoast Area

Drs. Arthur L. Valadie and Steven J. Schafer were ranked as “Top Doctors” in Castle Connolly’s annual survey. The results, which will be published in Sarasota Magazine, are an exclusive listing of the most-recommended physicians in Sarasota and Manatee counties.

The physicians honored represent varied specialties and are not chosen simply for their resumes; they’re also nominated based on a peer-to-peer process that recognizes the specialists for clinical prowess and exemplary success within their fields. Featured for the first time on the list is Dr. Schafer for his practice in Sports Medicine and for the third year in a row, Dr. Valadie has been given the honor in Orthopedic Surgery.

“Being given this honor by my fellow peers is a fulfilling accomplishment,” says Coastal Orthopedic surgeon Arthur L. Valadie, MD. “But to be included in this group alongside my fellow colleague from Coastal Orthopedics is a testament to how our entire practice upholds and provides superior patient care.”

Among his other responsibilities as a sports medicine specialist, Dr. Valadie serves as president of Coastal Orthopedics. Both he and Dr. Schafer are team physicians to the Pittsburgh Pirates, U.S. Soccer Team, IMG Academies, and State College of Florida.

In addition to the “Top Doctors” distinctions, earlier this year, Coastal Orthopedics was voted as the Suncoast’s “Best Orthopedic Healthcare Provider” in Living on the Suncoast Magazine.
